Photon Energy Group has joined other PV companies and opinionleaders in the Czech Republic in setting up REsolar, a collectivesystem for PV recycling.

In reaction to the introduction of a recycling fee for PVmodules by the Czech government, Photon Energy and nine otherleading players from the Czech PV Industry have joined forces andfounded REsolar.

As a collective system of PV module recycling REsolar will lookafter the interests of owners of PV power plants, something theCzech state has failed to do in the past years.

With its subsidiary PE Operations CZ, the Photon Energy Group isa 10 per cent stakeholder in REsolar. Photon Energy recommends thatother owners of PV installations join REsolar.

Under a new directive issued by the Environment Ministry ownersof PV plants have to register with a recycling system and pay a feeof CZK 8.50 per Kg ( EUR 0,30). With the introduction of a fee farabove market prices and comparable fees in other countries, thegovernment's decision has aroused suspicion as to what thegovernment's true intentions are.
