Photon Energy Australia has installed and commissioned a 99 kWsolar power plant in Sydney’s Macquarie Park. In addition thecompany has begun work on a 347 kWp roof mounted solar power plantin Canberra, which will also be part of a complex buildingrenovation.
„When buildings are renovated or newly built, it is an idealtime to integrate solar power, smart demand management and energystorage. This allows for optimum outcomes that deliver higher valueand significant energy cost savings“, says Managing DirectorMichael Gartner.
The engineers were tasked with achieving a high energy outputtarget while leaving rooftop space for other uses, such as storage. As a result, the solar power plant is mounted onto raised steelstructures, giving the possibility to walk under the structure andallowing for the use of space underneath the solar arrays for otherpurposes.
“We have developed a standardised cost effective, high-qualityand CEC compliant solar power package incorporating tier one solartechnology combined with Photon Energy’s leading protection, monitoring and PLC controls that are integrated into the buildingmanagement system”, says Michael Gartner.
Photon Energy continues to expand in the larger end of thecommercial solar market with its experience, in-house design andengineering capabilities that add significant value. The companywill shortly commence building a 347 kW roof mounted power plant inCanberra which will also be implemented as part of a complexbuilding renovation project. The power plant is expected to becommissioned in the third quarter of 2015.
